On the Road: Jr. Boston Celtics NBA Clinic

The other weekend we were given the opportunity by the Boston Celtics to help run their Jr NBA Clinic and provide a special “train the trainer” session for their youth coaches afterwards. The clinic was attended by over 100 youth who we were able to put through basketball skill work and sports performance training.

As you know, our passion for training is second to none, but our time with the Celtics provided us with an amazing opportunity to be part of that organization’s rich tradition. The actual banners from their 17 World Championships were on display on the walls of the Celtics Practice Facility where the clinic was held.

The day provided us with the opportunity to tour the practice facility and Celtics Front Offices, hang with Celtic mascot “Lucky”, work alongside former Celtic Leon Powe who was an integral part of the ’09 Championship team, and work with the amazing Celtic Jr NBA staff.

Whether training at our home gym in Carlisle, traveling to the over 30 teams we work with, doing USA Basketball Events, or spending time in Boston with the Celtics, there always seems to one common denominator. The common denominator is that the game does not discriminate against age, race, gender, or economic background.

Passion for the game of basketball can be found in every corner of the world. If you are willing to dedicate yourself to the game and do things the right way, you will be amazed at where that passion for the game can take you.

As our trainer Joe Stasyszyn says, “There is just something special about the game. That ball has some magic in it. It’s amazing the places it can take you if you are willing to dedicate yourself to it.”
